This is a total noob question so bare with me. I want to ask what north american big scooter will have the most parts available to MOD? I love big scooter but i know its mainly a fab in Japan. Simply i love the lowering and back wheel extension of big scooters. What big scooter does north america have where they are these parts?

Uhhh to put it simple, none.

The Helix or Morphous I think have the biggest aftermarket...but almost everything cool for them you have to get from Japan...most of the time that means $$$$. And both have really big asses, which means its hard to make an extension work.

The Big Ruckus has decent aftermarket support in the US, but even then theres hardly anything to visually mod. And good luck finding one, let alone one for less than $5k.

Honda Reflexes are cool, but I don't think there's much US aftermarket support...

You can lower or make a stretch kit for just about anything... but the degree of fabrication can vary. I'm sure I'm missing some big scooters.

Dam.... i was thinking maybe there is just 1 vendor in north america that may carry parts for big scooters...

You can find a lot of stuff on Ebay for the Helix. And some of it is priced pretty good. But handlebars options are limited, the ugly stock exhaust performs way better than any aftermarket, and most body kits are super expensive and from Japan.


Otherwise look for an Elite CH250...and strip the body off it (skelly). Then extend the rear, throw some sweet bars on it, do a custom exhaust, and add a cool headlight and taillight.

There are a lot of 150-250cc skellys on the other scooter section.

As a recent buyer of a Helix; Ebay is the way to go. It's turned out there are some decent parts here in the states. I'm hoping to get a few for myself. Not everything is here, but it's enough to get going...

Someone showed me a Japanese catalog once with stuff for the Helix. Really cool stuff but like they said expensive.

If you're going for a look, time to buy some fabrication tools and go to town becuase mainly you're on your own.
If its performance, you're pretty much stuck with clutch/varaitor tuning, a foamy filter, and possibly an incredibly expensive (my own perception) exhaust.

Don't expect much help either from the various forums dedicated to that maxi-scoot as most of the members are only concerned with what state line they're crossing that week or what's the most comfy seat on the market, such the case with my Burgman swap.

For some reason i dont really like the look of a Helix. I was more leaning towards the Yamaha Majesty. As for me fabricating something is probably not a good idea haha..

Are there lowering parts? Could the yamaha majesty or other scooter be based on other performance bike parts such as Ruckus and a Met?
