Yeah. The first time it overheated was going up a pretty steep long hill. I also noticed that it blows ass at hill climbing. At WOT I was barely even keeping up with everyone else (before it overheated)
Bummed hearing the overheating issue has risen it's ugly head. When I had the bb running I ate hills like a fat kid does twinkies, had to wait for everyone at the top of hills during con.....if we can't get the bb consistently running, I'll buy it back from ya....

I thought maybe it's the new belt and rollers but they've got around 60 miles on them now so they should be broken in. Oil level is normal, spark plug is 3 weeks old, carb is clean enough to eat out of and the jetting seems to be atleast close. It's really just about as fast as everyone else's from a stop. Only really noticing any difference at 40+ but I think it's mostly the drive face shave and cdi I'm going to try flushing the coolant tomorrow again since it'll be a completely cold engine and see if the bigger jet helps anything, or if there's air in the the coolant/water. If it's not either of those, then I'm out of ideas as to the overheating since everything else was torqued to spec. Oil is spill brand new looking, burned a little bit of oil when riding but it's still just right under half way on dipstick.
...something is definately off. You should be killing everyone off the line and cruising with torque at 45 (i.e. no ninja tuck required). We torqued it to 96, but they say you can go to 102/104? My gut tells me it's something else....the only other thing I can think of is decking the head surface, but I'm still thinking its something else. FLIP, does the issue occur even if you keep the rpms below 9K? I'm thinking you disconnect the CDI to make sure it doe not rev above 8800 and see if it overheats. Like I said I noticed problems if I wound it up past 9500..after that, even cruising would put it into limp mode until the system reset....

Yeah, it overheated when I was cruising 20mph (just under 1/4th throttle) after I flushed out all the water yesterday. Just about to try it again now.
So just went out and drained the water again and re-filled and changed the oil (old oil looked good - no gas or water in it). Put it up on the stand and revved it up a bit to see if the water would go down at all and the exhaust shot a orange flame - too rich? Got on and went behind my house on this street that's a long gradual hill, flat, then gradual hill and it did fine so I circled around and tried it again. Half way up the first hill it overheated again. Turned it off and checked dipstick and it was half way up the marks. Waited 15 min then rolled home doing 15, let it sit for 10 min and checked the coolant hose for water and it blasted water out about 15 feet I checked to see if there were any leaks in any of the coolant hoses and there's none. Gonna fill the water back up and limp to work and take the motor out tomorrow and put in the stocker until we can figure out what's wrong. Still isn't feeling very powerful either
So my mom helped me move jens ruck back home today. she was stoked to ride it that far. Good day to ride.

So mom on her way to the hospital, jens at work and im at home with the day off. Welcome back home from your near death motorcycle ride to hells canyon with your gang to only put you on a ruckus to get hurt. man im a shitty son. Not a good feeling to see your mom crashing in your mirrors and sliding into a ditch.
DUDE! I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom and Jen's ruck I'm glad she's ok......man, your Moms awesome! There she is smiling the whole time like it was notin! Keep us posted on her condition (just bumps n bruises I hope) and the damage to Jen's ruck....

....FLIP, I think you've already put in 2x the effort and gotten 3x the problem I had. You need a dependable daily so let's stop the pain and just work a deal out for the pc20, belt, CDI or I can just buy it all back, up to you.
I'll put the motor in a project scoot...tinker with then...
