I did a test ride of the majority of this route today (3/27/10), and let's just say you'll get a really good view of Austin. Here's the Saturday ride, part I. I didn't have enough screen to display the lower portion of the map.

It is essential everybody check that their drive belts, rollers, and tires are in good shape.

Anytime after May 17th and the odds are good that I make it out from New Mexico. If I bring my truck, instead of riding the whole way, I've got room in the bed for a couple other scooters or can pull someone's trailer. I might be able to convince a few others here out West to come along.

If we really start planning this now, We could cause a Ruckus in town at one of the most happening times in Austone. Locals might know some more big events, but would be a great time to merge our event with something this big.

I've got one two week block of vacation available. If this gets firmed up and $$ is cool, I'll be in!

Eats, cheap sleeps and good riding will entice me!

I originally wanted to do this for Marley Fest or Eeyore's Birthday, but those are around 4/20 which is my anniversary

The reason I suggest May is because everything is usually green around then so it looks nicer, it's warm but not too hot or humid, and it's the middle of the year so less financial strain for most people. I'm down for suggestions though.

South By Southwest would be cool to piggy back. Summer and tubing would be cool too.

At the last Dallas ride they called it the "Dallas Down and Dirty" 2009
it was a great time.

maybe we can use the name and make it a traveling tx ride. the the last organizers permission.
the down and dirty II could be here aka the "Austin Down and Dirty" 2010. followed by Houston, El Paso etc etc.
