The wifes Ruck is making a god awful noise all of a sudden. Oil level is fine.
Made a couple videos......whats wrong with this scoot!?

What happened to to your kick start lever?
Sounds like the mech is partially engaging and hanging up.

Put some vise grips on that stub and give it a counter clockwise twist

for sure crank bearing. buy a used motor, and start changing the oil lol

yeah, was afraid it was the bearings, can they be changed successfully? I have rebuilt plenty of car engines so am not new to wrenching.

Honda does list bearings for the crank, but it's possible damage has been done to the crank case itself if the crank bearings have failed. I'd tear the engine down and inspec carefully before ordering anything. Be prepared to replace the engine though.

very good low mileage or perfect new used engines can be bought for very cheep. a lot less head ache,

as cheap and abundant as the GET engine is, it would cost more to do a rebuild

I must not be looking in the right places for a used engine...any advice?

I took the valve cover off, everything seems fine, not too much lash, cam chain is under tension....it's gotta be the crank bearings...ugh. Anybody know of a used GET?

Not to be argumentative but honda only wanted 80 some odd bucks here. Plus the cost of shipping on a used motor isn't very cheap.

I'm pretty sure honda only offers one crank bearing and you have to buy a complete crank to get the other

tore the motor down, yep its one crank bearing, the one on the cam chain side.
Ordered a new crank assembly (crank, rod, bearings) for $109. not too bad IMO

fresh bottom rotating assembly > used engine.
