8/19/2011 - Incoming...

I am at home preparing the panels for the 2WD and I received a couple of boxes of "Stuff". One of them weighing in at 29lbs.

Damn, you ain't playin' around. That's some serious @#$@#. I can't wait to see the exhaust on there too. Be sure to do a review also.

8/26/11 - 8/27/11 - Transplant
8:12pm - 12:14am

I've been away from this project for awhile because of work, meetings and other obligations but now I'm on it yo!

Tonight I am able to come over to prep the 2WD for the donor motor. I thought all we're doing is just prop it to the table and work on it Sunday. Instead we went a few steps ahead.

Getting the 2WD to go up the ramp on to the table.


Strapped and secured.


Somewhat of a ghetto-way to secure it down but whatever works.


Taking out the battery.


No battery... For now.


Detaching the air filter unit away from the engine.


"POOF"... Gone. The old engine is out.


And here it is... The engine that pumped out over 21,000 miles.



Fast forward to the donor engine is now installed along with the new rear suspension.



Side-by-side comparison of the old, f******* stock pipe on the top vs. the NYC pipe below. Yeah... That old pipe was asking to go away.


My attempt on installing the NCY pipe. "Good job C-Dawg!" "Suuuure."


Done for now. It took us 4 hours to swap out the motors.


And now the moment of truth... Will it run or blow chunks???


IT LIVES AGAIN!!! F*** YEAH!!!

And the shirt says it all...


The next step is to put all the screws and bolts back and ride around the block for at least 100 miles before putting on the rest of the goods. If that's the case by Sunday, who wants to do a "SUNDAY, SUPER SUNDAY NIGHT RIDE" around the block?

8/30/11 - Breakin Her In...

The donor 125cc Vino engine is installed to the 2WD. Now it's the breakin phase of this project before I put her back under the knife to install everything else. I want to put in some miles and get a feel of how the engine performs without the upgrades except for the NCY pipe and rear shock. I'm planning on putting on 100 to 200 miles.

Ta daaaa... This is the way I roll in PH. I sport a t-shirt, gym shorts and slippers while riding a naked scoot at night.




The 2WD is back home, for now.

Yeah buddy! Did a quick ride around the block even though it's a bit chilly around PH. But I didn't care. I'm just GLAD to be back on the saddle again since late May.

9/6/11 - Daily Driver... again

I'm finally able to ride the 2WD safely on the road. Earlier on my first test drive after the swap, the main bolt that holds the pipe to the engine fell off. So I ordered the bolt last week and it finally came in today from House of Motorcycles. It took me just less than 30 minutes to install it to the pipe. It was also suggested that I buy a Loctite Threadlocker. Basically a blue solution that works as a glue to metal. In this case, the bolt for the pipe and anything else that needs it on the 2WD.

The 2WD is ready for a road test and breaking-in period.



Attached is a rear mounted camera holder. Normally it goes on the front handle bars to get pictures and video of what's up ahead. This time I plan on taking video footage of what's behind me while riding during SFC in Oct. 8. The camera to be used is a Sony DSC-TX5. It's water-proof, shock-resistance and takes 720 HD video. It helps to also have a 32 gig SD card.


Also thrown in are a couple of mini-mirrors for better blind-spot coverage.


Minus the side panels and other internal engine and transmission components, she is ready to go for at least the next 200 to 300 miles before she goes back to the garage.


Also on board is the NCY pipe and the YSS Rear Adjustable Shock. I'll give an brief description on how those perform on the road later.
