So I tried using the search but couldn't really find what I was looking for, maybe I'm just bad at the search or something. I got an 05 Met, GET engine, but it has a Daytona CDI, as far as I can tell its stock other than that. As soon as it starts up it starts to accelerate right away. The idle screw isn't touching the throttle and the cable isn't pulling either. Is it normal for it to do that? You can start it on the stand and it will just accelerate up like you are giving it gas.

Would a reset of the CDI/ECU help this?

Was the carburetor touched? You could try to do a reset to see if that does fix your rpm issue.

I would say your throttle cable is binding on something. Unhook the throttle cable and start it. If it doesn't do it with the throttle unhooked at least you have a starting point

I'll have to try this, looking at it there doesn't appear to be any tension but I'll check.

Cable is probably frayed at the throttle tube. By your description of its start up characteristics, it is highly unlikely aything is wrong with the carb.

Unhook the cable and restart. Bet she'll settle down.

Just bought a 03' met. It was running fine for the first two days, but now it sputters in mid-full throttle. Can anyone help me out with what is wrong? Thanks in advance

Clean out your carb. If you can pull the jets out and soak them in carb cleaner. Also fill it up with fresh gas

^ not in the stock triple tree, you'll need a ruck triple... I stuck a ruck wheel in mine for shits and it touched the right fork, I guess the offsets are different

The stock Met fender will only fit with the stock met tree. Im really not sure about after market one though but I doubt they would have the holes for it to screw in to.
