Back in the Game. Had a Ruck for a while and got rid of it, and said if I ever go on 2 wheels again it would be a Met.

Well Searching CL just for kicks and found this 2008 Met with 8k on the dail for Under $1000 so scooped her up. My goals on this thing are Small. Dont plan on going all out like I did my ruck. Just keep things simple. Just started with a GET swap, Bopper Tire. Custom ATR extention and custom exhaust. Polini Var. Tune and thats about it. Fun and loud. Maybe CDI down the road.

It was a bit of a learning experience taking this thing apart but now I can Take the engine out in 20 minutes no problem.

Right now on stock Var. just half ass tune and homemade exhaust and intake it cruises all day 40-43 before it hits the limiter. So some more tuning them Polini and new belt goes in and 45+ all day. Dont care to see 56MPH like I did on my Stock bore GET that was in my old ruck. lol

do you still have that chrome muffler cover? wanna sell it?

think next project is more tuning of course but Change out handle bars, Which is no easy task, Bar end mirrors, and Slamm the front. Only issue with lowering it is the clearance of the engine. We'll see.

Just quick update since I got a couple Pm's from people.

I got this Can From a Pocket Bike


I chopped it about in half. Used the stock header and chopped the OEM muffler. Its pretty damn loud but at least people hear me coming.

Simple and clean


Added a top Support bar. Its not very heavy but just in case my welds decide to weaken I dont have to fear it hitting a car behind me.

Looking good man, and yeah, handlebars are gonna be a pain...

Just a little update:

Finally got around to making my new Intake. Simple but VERY effective.


I did a Weak tune when I had my first POS intake so I was barely getting above 40MPH on flats. So started tuning. I was running WAY to rich so Not Im running a 75/38 combo. Filter+Tube+clamps= $25

This was after about an hour of tuning. with a small hill. Not even close to hitting the rev limiter.

Still some fine tuning to do. With this cold weather, its horrible for tuning.

Well got some toys in the mail. This is the first time I have ever messed with a Contra spring or anything. When I had my ruck, I ran stock everything aside from the Polini.
Went with the 1500rpm Contra spring, Running a Polini with 5.5g sliders.


WOW, the torque is gnarly! but since It stays in a low gear, I would hit the limiter a little from 15-30mph so I mixed sliders.
running 5.5/6g mixed sliders. This thing has some good torque. I can tell It holds RPMs very high. Gets to 40MPH in a hurry. once it gets to 45mph it maintains it with ZERO tuck on flats. Still not hitting limiter so I think a little more tuning and I think a Light weight flywheel is in order.

And a little something to dress up the side. Always Loved the look of exposed goods

As a side note. Not running the blue clutch springs just yet. Want to fine tune the Contra spring with weights and Fine tune the Carb.
