YSR50 :banger:

Ysr50s are the shizzle. I started racing on those when I was little. 1988-94. Swap the motor for a Canadian 80cc or a 1978-1989 Yamaha mx80. Direct drop in and 68 mph stock with tall gearing. A carb , pipe and some port work will get you dang neat 80 mph. Best budget corner carved back in the day. Good ones are $$$$ now. talk to Rose at Teamcalamari.com . Good people.

Glad you’re having fun so far with the bike. I’m having more fun on my mini’s than all of my “big bikes” While they aren’t exactly Honda quality the larger engine and front disc brake make it a more enjoyable experience on the streets. Just like the ruckus, it’s hard to leave them stock. Lots of options.

If anybody is interested in buying one I can ship anywhere in 49 states. Skyteam is the actual manufacture (China). All of the US companies selling monkey bikes are all the same with different colors.. Some have larger mark ups.

so theyre all the same components? brakes, shocks, wheels, and all that jazz? who has the lowest mark ups?

They are all made in the same factory by (Skyteam) and US importers (Piranha, Pitster Pro) put their name on it. There is only ONE manufacture making these bikes. They are all 100% the same bike but with different color options. Check me out on Google or facebook “the scooter solution”. As far as I know I'm $100-200 cheaper than everyone else for the same bike. Or call me @ (949) 610-8490. My name is Andrew.

Pitster Pro is reputable company and they do a good job! They just have more overhead than me.

searching has lead me to part swaps. Some NSR50 parts will swap over. nothing in particular. NSR clip ons and rear sets are cheap and will let me stretch out a little. apparently the suspension is junk but there are options ranging from 50 bucks to 3k for that. i'm not really looking to mod a lot; more of a statement.

i was just under the impression it had a big aftermarket like the monkey/gorilla. that is definately not the case. you can do a lot, you just have to get a little more creative.

NICE!!!! i had Teamcalamari rebuild and work my 50cc motor about 8 years ago. i threw on a 24mm flatslide mikuni and with me on it at 180lbs, i've gps'd it at 65mph (full tuck).

here's mine and my girl piloting it (she's 5'1")

is there anyway to drop the pegs down and a little farther back? i hear they are about as roomy as the crf50 even though theyre similar in size to a crf70.

This thing is sweet! So sweet it has me buying one today!! I'm getting one distributed by Ice Bear. Should be about $1000 OTD. Anyway, I'm gonna be following this thread to see what direction you take with your Gorilla modding. Cheers!
