Hello all I just bought a 2005 Metropolitan thats had a hard life (awaiting a center stand and exhaust before i can begin riding it). I just wanted to let you all know how impressed I am with your forums. There is a wealth of knowlege here for any willing to do a bit of searching or ask. I live in Bowling Green KY and have been riding motorcycles for 6 years. I have been wrenching on bikes longer than i have ridden them so if anyone needs a hand feel free to contact me and I'll see if i can help. Im in general a motorcycle addict my primary ride styles are commuting and distance touring. In addition to the Metropolitan I have a Honda Transalp and a Honda Pacific Coast. So if anyone needs a hand or Just wants to go for a ride let me know.

Dale

Just checking in. Bought myself an '09 Met last month and got my Minnesota motorcycle endorsement. No need to post any photos (yet) as it is a stock Monza with a factory rack and windshield added on. As a heavier rider with a 12 mile hilly commute, I plan a few simple mods. Battlescotter recommended the CDI black box and Daytona Drag variator. I have not done much on a motor since I gave up my '67 Mercury Caliente in the early 90's, so this will be a fun new challenge.

Thanks for making room for us Met-Heads too! :usa:

Newb question, I bought a ruckus swingarm for my stock metro, I want to end up eventually with something like this look!

http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll24 ... G_7832.jpg

I am getting a ruckus wheel tomorrow for a temp wheel but do "coilovers" on the rear suspension work well to lower the rear just a little? I dont wanna dump it just a little lowered?

Yo! Recently purchased an 09 Met! My name is Mitchell and mainly ride South Austin. Bought this thing to cruise with my budz and go on the torchy's 88 meet! As far as build plans, i just installed my Dorby variator(WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! :banger: ) and have some dress-up parts on their way. Maybe a ruckus swing arm and custom exhaust down the road. Here's some pics...

So I want to spend some cash on go fast parts.

I got a stock 05 metro with ruckus swingarm and ruckus wheel.

What are the first things I should order? I wouldnt like to spend more than $300.

Dorby variator $80ish
Daytona CDI ($??)

^ thats what I have gathered from research. Is that true? Anything else?

If u get a daytona u need to change the carburator to a pc20 or something of your choice. Daytonas cdi run around 200 or u can buy a used one on the great baazar

Why do you need a different carb to run the CDI? I have seen a few build threads where the people had the stock carb with the daytona CDI.

You don't. You will want a different variator for sure. Now sense in a cdi unless you have some way to GET the engine in the higher rev range and that won't happen with the stock variator. The carb would be a good performance mod after adding an exhaust and other mods that will allow the engine to breath and exhaust more air/fuel. Posh also makes a good cdi.
