I looked for a thread about mets with ruck arms + extensions couldn't find one.. Figured would be good.

Here is the problem im having. a modified ATR extension.
Seems like it still lets the motor sag to far down..

Image

I know i can do a hard tail to push teh back end up.. but then the back plastics will be up away from the rear tire..
Its almost like i need to make a new motor mount that keeps the motor higher..

ideas?

You have to notch your frame man. Check out my buddy Adam's thread:

Not all sit low. I have plenty of room. I'll snap some pics tomorrow.

Another suggest is taking off a section of the extension where it moves up into the notch on the left side. ; )

also, u do realize that there is no way ur going to be riding like that. It's almost sitting on the rear of the frame. And that engine angle is pretty bad. You need a longer shock or a different shock mounting.

Or is the top shock mount not mounted? Lol

maybe my shock mount is not long enouph.. i made the shock mount made to where i wanted the rear plastic
to set on the rear tire. If i move the shock back to where i think the motor needs to set the rear plastic gap
to the rear tire is crazy high.

Hey I did the same thing same mount. But I did my own thing. With the help of Patrick K
Used Atr kit cut end off notched frame. And notched top shock mount each side notched rear ridge on rear to run shock ext for ruckus inverted. Made hard tail. Mounted to rear ruckus SA. Done. It was a huge pain in the ass. Went for a ride it still ride nice. I'm Happy :highfive:

You can run an eye to eye on your frame inverted to mount your shock up

I'll get close ups of mine tomorrow. I know u chopped the front bushing/cross brace. It's another part where I was suggesting u cut down.

Plus u chopped a lot of the left of the frame. Don't cut any more. Lol

I dont mind putting a hardtail on it.
But at this point. I'd ihave to run a longer hardtail
then stock shock to get the motor to have clearance
All that is going to do is raise the rear plastics up away
from the rear tire.. (not what i want)

Ill wait to see pics of yours tomorrow before i take off the mount and
weld up one of my lego mounts. Frustrating :(

Yeah your shock is to short, u should make a shock adapter like I made. Plus I would suggest you get a stiffer shock.

Being that the angle of the shock is so slanted, it puts much more pressure on the shock. Even for light riders.

I had to change over to a coil over and air filled shock to get it stiff enough so I can tuck the mini fatty in the plastics.

I've had the problem of the wheel bottoming out not the engine being too low. But the shock adapter solution also helped my problem.

Make shock adapter like this. It mounts the shock further up the swingarm. It will move your shock forward and will cause your engine to sit level. It will also make your shock operate better, as shocks are meant to go up and down, not bend (this happens when the shock is mounted at an angle). I run a stock shock which supports only like 5 lbs but I don't bottom out no more. You can make the adapter as long as you want just make sure its bolted tight. (personally I like this solution better than going hardtail)
