It started out a beautiful blue and black model, it was a daily rider for it's owner on the island of Kauai. For 3 years it served her needs, she maintained it very well! Until a bigger, prettier scooter caught her eye! Then there she sat, on the side of the house unused . until one day her long lost son came to visit her. Her son needed transportation, so he proceed to do what any kid would do to a scooter they didn't pay for! He beat the shit outta that scooter! Left it in the rain. never checked the oil. Wrecked it. Dropped it. Blah-Blah-Blah......
So here's where I come in. She say's she needs to sell it to pay bills, she said it ran fine before her son got ahold of it.

So I take a chance, give her the money, load the scooter in the back of the truck and that is the beginning of my scooter obsession



Here it is, I didn't even think of documenting the build till I was more than half way thru it!

Every thing was sanded and painted by me in between rain squalls!
New brakes all around incl. new disc.
Suspension was still in great shape, so all stock.
Cup holder and tail lights "Scooter west".
Exhaust and 139cc cylinder kit "Jiang Wayne".
Bars and mirrors "Amazon".
Ruima "trans kit" "Provo scooter"
Hard to find items that are compatible w/Zuma "Dorby"

Wow, look at that seat! Great job. Thanks for sharing the modded Vino. I've been thinking about painting my rims too. Did you have to remove the wheels to do it?

yeah I painted the wheels while they were off, but the new tires were mounted. taped it off and spray bombed them. Prep is everything, I prepped them with no tires on them, 3M pad to knock the shine off the factory coating then OSPHO or similar prep. Mine were in bad shape, pitting scratches etc.

Nuts! I'm hauling nuts. I have a gourmet roasted nut company and I'm delivering to wholesale accounts on the other side of the Island. It's usually about a 100 mile round trip with 4 to 7 stops depending on orders. Perfect excuse to get out of the shop and go ride for half the day. kauainutroasters.com

Hope all is well with you on Kaui?

All is well, mahalo for the concern, it's wet and still raining. We only had minor flooding, much better than some of the North shore residents, but we pull together over here, making it better, making it right! We have had over 45" of rain as of the 10th for March and still raining. Visitors are starting to get upset about the rain. So funny! "Aloha, welcome to the Garden Island, home of the wettest spot on Earth!"
