:highfive:

by the way guys, i never posted but my motor did not lock up my rear torque spring stuck and when it did and i decelerated it stayed belt came slact and proceeded to wedge sliders in the variator and that is why my bike would not crank. The metro is running strong again and the new ruckus is about done and ready for paint.

I do not care where we ride i am just ready for next year. :D

When the poll showed 11/11/1, I was wondering how we would decode that but then the count kept climbing to 27 votes!
The thought had occurred to me that locals from either Asheville or Charleston might vote for their location
and truthfully, that would bother me a lot less than the possibility that someone voted twice.

We may need to redo the location vote as a public post from each rider with their choice as opposed to an anonymous poll?
With the forum poll, anyone from anywhere on the planet can cast a vote!

Personally, I don't mind locals voting for their hometown, as long as they will be there, but with an open poll, it's entirely possible for people who will not attend and have no intentions of ever attending, to actually select the location.

It's happened before.

We're gonna need a poll to vote for a revote lol... No, really, I think we make this as easy as possible and not get hung up on the voting. It's not a competition (for most of us anyway) and we should just let this poll run. If there are no double IP's we can't really say anything. If someone voted in the first place, well then, they cared enough about the event to be voting anyway. Some people may have voted in the hope that it would be in a certain city and they would go if it's in that city.

Asheville is more of a central location, there's a good amount of western NC riders, and Tennesee riders whereas SC doesn't really have much to speak of. I can't see a lot of regional support coming from the Charleston area.

Ed, while I commend you for trying to make this as fair as possible, I say we get onto the planning phase as soon as possible. And that goes for both city's. If Charleston is two years out, then I have two years to plan for it.

Disagreement when it came time to pick a city for the National Con is what broke that group up and kind of ruined it for everyone. I don't want that to happen to this group.

^^^It has nothing to do with competition...showing up for a few hours and riding a few miles shouldn't qualify someone for hosting CoN...get that through your vag...lol.

Glenn, you are a real buzzkill when you set your mind to it. I'm sure you already know that.
I hear enough negativity on the news.....I don't really care to hear it in here, from those I ride with.
Most of us ride Rucks because it's fun and you have a gift for sucking the joy out of everything and everyone around you.

When it's not fun anymore, then it's not worth the effort of dealing with this kind of shit and we're just about there.

Sure, scooters are serious business, but this is getting ridiculous.
To paraphrase the motto off this year's T-shirt....
Lighten up or Die!

Clearly there are people either voting twice (not sure if that is possible the way the poll is set up) or there are people voting who are not amongst the 'core' group of CCon participants who probably should be the ones making the decision on the next site. Nonetheless, it seems like there is alot of enthusiasm for both locations, and I think everyone would agree that no matter which location you voted for, BOTH locations are going to be great places to visit and explore. Therefore, maybe we should consider revisiting the concept that has been introduced a couple times already....that being alternating between mountains and beach locations. That might be easier than trying to redesign another poll by some other set of rules. The alternating locations plan might be just as valid as trying to implement a new poll.

Just a thought. But.....I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....wherever CCon 2012 is, I'll be there and I'll be ready to ride (and maybe better prepared to deliver basic first aid!! :) ).

i DON'T THINK PEOPLE CAN VOTE TWICE,....WHEN i ADDED THE POLL, i SELECTED "VOTE ONCE".

So, lets move on, no bickering lads,....Ashville it is for 2012, and Charleston for 2013, there will NOT be a vote for 2013.

Dub,....as far as someone "qualitfying to host con",....the way "I" see it,....there were 8 of us that started this "get together",...and really,...if we decided to hold it in the same damn spot every fauwkin year, we would, those who want to attend can,...those that don't, won't.....but we have'nt been like that,....we wanted input from everybody thats interested,....."input"....not "slam", or "digs",....I know ya love to ride, and love to dish, & thats all cool,...but lets not piss eachother off,...lets fuckin ride & have a trip,...like I already said a few posts back, I'm in this for my "get away",....to ride, drink, & wrench, with all my Amrerican friends,.... :canuck:

So,....Rubik, Blueridge,...all i ask of you two, is DO NOT OVERPLAN this,....please.....

Clean, affordable accomadations, where EVERYONE can be at the same time,.....some awesome food locations,....cuz yo'all KNOW I want some bar-b-q!....and a couple routes that are ruck-friendly,....should be no issues,.....as for us big rucks, I'm sure we will find LOTS of opportunity to open-up-the-throttle here & there,.......& like I've also said previously,....I get LOTS & LOTS of open-throttle-riding on my way down, & on my way home,....so seeing some local scenery, and great food, is all I'm looking for.

Y'all owe me a J&C..... :canuck:
