Let me ask you this...if you stick your finger in a light socket and get shocked...do you need to do it again to know what will happen...LOL

Like I said, I am one vote...everyone else has a vote too...vote how you wish...just being honest, whether behind a keyboard or in person...lol

x2.
ive said it a couple times that i would have no problem hosting but the roads down here are straight and flat and boring. there are 3 hills in the area which are the 3 high rise bridges.

I changed the title of this thread, just to avoid confusion.

I made some suggestions earlier on choosing a location and host and it seems they were all bad, very bad, so just ignore them.

I will just make a few observations in the way of an explanation........

What hosting a CCoN taught me is you cannot make a thing into something it is not.

We all tried to be timely, responsible, schedule keeping, clockwatching, good little scuuter rally riders......
and we failed miserably. We're Ruck riders. So it goes.

Given the group of riders involved and their diverse backgrounds and natures, I guess some things are inevitable.

some history......

Sawman and a Ruck rider, Fiffa (who didn't even show up) actually planned the very first CCoN....
That's right, :canuck: CCoN was actually created by the Canuck! :canuck:

It might have been Canada CoN but none of our sorry asses could pass the Homeland Security background checks to get a Passport to enter Canada.
Given your current situation, how many of you would travel to a foreign country for a Ruck rally? Honestly.

It was only after seeing that Sawman was riding down to Fayetteville that the rest of us decided to show up.
Most of us were late additions...I was.
I vigorously suggested there were much better ride locations in NC than Fayetteville, but it was hopeless (as always).
Fayetteville it was.
In Fayetteville, we hastily decided in the middle of the night that we would do it again.....and again......and again.
At least, until we were all too old to do it again.

And so far, we have!

In the past years, on the last night, we presented Vince with a couple of location alternatives and he selected one.
Fayetteville, Durham, Wilmington, Greensboro.
This year he selected BOTH suggestions...Charleston for 2012 and Asheboro for 2013.

(that's not to say he couldn't be persuaded to change his mind if there were extremely compelling reasons for doing one before the other) .

While we come together for different reasons, underneath it all, there is the one unifying factor....the Honda Ruckus.
The biggest difference between CCoN and most other CoNs is the number of Big Rucks that show up.
CCoN is the premier Big Ruck rally in NA and it is as much a wrencher's rally as a rider's rally.
If you come to CCoN and keep your eyes open, you will learn something new about your scoot.....it's unavoidable.

It was even suggested at one point that perhaps the Big Rucks should plan their own rally and leave the name CCoN for the Rucks....
I sure hope that never happens. I like rolling with the Ruck pack. I hope they like rolling with us.

Big Rucks racked up over 7000 highway miles this year just to attend CCoN11.
There are probably fewer than 2000 of them left in North America.

Where ever the Big Rucks roll, Rucks are always welcome.
While the location may not always be our personal first choice and we'll bitch about how hot it is, how far we had to ride to get there, and how much the hotel costs,
.....we'll be there. Yes, we'll probably be late, but we'll be there, soon or late.

How many would be willing to bet hard cash on whether they will attend a specific rally in a specific location on a specific date.... 2 years from now?
I can name a few I'd put money on.

now, Bring on the Ruckus!!! :pissed:

on thursday night and friday night there were discussions between me and a few others about having it in asheville.. i have no problem having it in asheville.. i said that last year and then an argument started about it.. so this year i didnt even bring it up.. everyone else came to me about it.. i spoke with ed about it with tim.. we spoke about the dragon.. possibly near cherokee because of harrahs casino.. about camping to make it cheap for everyone.. etc.. last thing i knew was we were going to decide at tuggles gap restaurant.. as we all know saturday's "plan" didnt go as planned.. the lil rucks busted our ass to get to tuggles gap as fast as we could thinking we were going to meet or BEAT the big rucks up there.. when we arrived and no big rucks.. then the waiting began.. the calling.. the texting.. etc.. etc.. so finally after waiting for hour or so we decided to bomb the hill.. then Todd had the accident.. after that.. it took us until almost 8-9pm to get back.. before you knew it a small ruck group left.. so we sat and BS under eds shed.. listened to ed, pete, and nikki jam session.. ate pizza.. during that whole time nobody said anything about con12.. it wasnt until i was about to fall asleep and decided to hit the sack that pete came up and said a small group is talking about next year.. i told pete its the wrong time.. everyone is either drunk or tired.. half the ppl who rode were not even there.. i told him im going to zzz.. thats the last time i heard anything bout next year.. asheville is a great place to ride.. the parkway wraps around asheville so it is easy access to either the north section or southern section.. but i would need to know what you guys want to do if i was to host.. Tim agreed he would help in the planning if it was in asheville.. Josh and Todd live in morganton which is about 1hr from asheville as well.. there is a guy beaver on TR he lives close to morganton as well.. charlotte is 2hrs away would be easy for those guys to make it.. there are a bunch of riders in TN that would prob be able to make it.. but im not gonna get into an argument like last year.. all i will say is what was said last year..

Riders Decide.. :highfive:

Hell-yeah!...... :banger:

When we got together in Fayetteville, it was totally unplanned-everything,.....love-it!,.......I even brought Lisa with me,...it was a "get away",....it still is,...I ride my ass off to get there,....to ride my ass off,....to ride my ass off to get home,....and in the middle of all that riding, I get to see all you fauwkers!... :highfive: ....have some drinks, and have some laughs,.....& smoke some Camels... ..... :banger:

I appreciate the mention Ed,....more like honoured.... :moose

And I can sincerely tell you all,....I hope I get to see several more cities in my trips to see you all,.....there are places in NY i still want to see, places in PA, VA, NC, and SC,....get the picture?..... :canuck:

I don't know who all I told aboout my ride down to NC,....but my gps took me down I-81, then on to hwy 43,...onto some of the Blue Ridge Parkway,......and "WOW",.....amazing,... :highfive: .....no-doubt-it,...it would be epic,...but,....as I told Ed, Pete, Bro, Nouse,....the riding is important,...but for ME, so is the hanging-out after, wrenching,...telling stories & joking,....all I ask for next year,...is that the group all be at the same spot,....not 2 or 3 motels & camping, etc,.... :canuck:

As for 2012,....while we tossed Charleston and Ashville around,....honestly,....I opted for Charleston for 2 main reasons,...1st, I'm already riding 1000 miles, so whats another 300???.....2nd, i hear the food is amazing.... :canuck:

As for Ashville,....I'm sure the riding would be better, but define "better",....its alllllll good riding,....& i plan to run the entire Blueridge at some point.... :highfive:

CarolinaCON is not any other scooter rally. There are some awesome times to be had. I have met people that I consider great friends, and I look forward to this every year. I will be there no matter what city, both locales are great.
Charleston has a rich history, Patriots point, good food (i.e. fresh seafood). I-526 bridge for the Big Rucks (meep).

I'm just saying.

Yup , BlueRidge is right-o about Asheville . Asheville is a Great place to ride . Family stuff came up at the last minute for me here and i wasn't able to make it to CarolinaCon 2011 with Josh and Todd like i had planned . That sucked because i was really really looking forward to it . Ive never had my ruckus up that far but we go to Asheville multiple times a year( in a car) and i have always wanted to take my ruck up there to ride . I couldn't imagine a better place to ride anywhere in north Carolina personally . Either way we could all do CC in West virginia next year and i would plan to go lol . Eh , just my 3 cents .

Hey Glen, dude, I would have given anything to not have had to drive to VA to get my bikes, pack all my shit up (while I'm moving my house and family two states away) and visit CarolinaCon for only 12 hours. I wasn't even going to make it in the first place. But I did. I showed up to see some of the people that I enjoy seeing. It must have been nice to step out your front door this year and CON's at your doorstep.

Where were you this year when we did the Richmond ride? Too busy to make it? Vaggin out? Either way, I don't give a shit. I still had fun, I still wish you could have made it for 5 miles. That would have been an awesome 5 miles.

IMO riding a shit ton of miles and being a douchebag to everyone you see because they didn't put enough miles on their Ruckus, doesn't qualify you to post your smartass opinion.

I think you should be looking at it another way homie... Be thankful for those that did show up and rode AT ALL. Give some credit man. We did come to your town.

I think I've ridden enough with all of you guys for you to know that I'm all about riding, I wasn't "vaggin". People were going to bed, folks were dispersing, we were getting lost and it looked like rain. That's why we made the decision to go back to Ed's... Also, I can't expect people who have been riding all day to go out riding with me all night when I showed up at the end of the event.

The thing is dude, you started this shit with Slim, then BroRoe, now me? are you fucking serious? You're burning bridges man. If i had started half the shit you've started with solid members of this group, I wouldn't show my face. I used to think you were cool as shit....

^^^ now that I've gotten that out......

Either city is cool with me. I'll let you guys decide to avoid any "conflict". I mean, I know that what ever city is chosen, the other city will probably end up being next. I'm cool with that.

Asheville is an awesome city. I been on vacation up there and I wouldn't mind taking my Ruck with me. There's Chimney Rock and to me, that place alone makes it worth the trip. I'd love to ride the mountain roads on the Ruck and I think we would all enjoy it. We may get more of a turn out because it's a bit more centrally located and lodging will probably be cheaper.

Charleston amazes me everyday. It's got an awesome downtown area (nightlife) bridges upon bridges and beautiful scenery. It's basically a whole shit ton of islands linked together by bridges. One of my favorite things about Wilmington was riding to the beach at two in the am and jumping in the ocean. I love the heat, and I love the ocean. That would be Charleston.

One thing I will say, I would be honored to host the 5th annual Carolina CON. If Charleston is chosen, I won't let you guys down. If Asheville is chosen, I'll be there.

Another thought.....last year we had a taste of the beach and flat roads. This year we had a taste of the mountains. Maybe next year we hit the beach again. Charleston is a GREAT town!!!

I LOVE Asheville too. We NEED to have this event in Asheville at some point. I'll be there wherever the group decides.

Will...dude I gotta be honest didn't even read all your BS above, but I read more than enough...as for Richmond, you were moving so I decided not to go...no vaggin there.

and big fuckin woop, you stopped on your way back from VA, rode into town and vagged out and rode back to ed's...late my ass, you all had time to stay up late and decide on 2012 and 2013.

Slim's a douche vag, BroRo and I are good, and how am I starting shit with you...I didn't start shit, unless making an observation and saying it is starting shit...I think some vag has a guilty conscience about being a vag...lol

Good to see your true colors though, nice to some one's face and then talk shit behind your keyboard...I say what I say in person or whereever...like a real man.

I'll see whoever, wherever...apoligies for speaking my mind and hurting little vag's feelings...
