Well, she's running again, though theres still a few things that aren't done, or might not work out as I had hoped. I still have to mount the rear wheel (I had a new tire swapped onto the rim that goes with this bike. The one on it now is a spare that had a good tire as my old one was getting dangerously bald.) That will be done. Taillight still needs wired, also will be done. Headlights are on, but I want to swap this setup for another thats almost ready. Hope to have this done but isn't necessary. Most frustratingly though.. I spent a LOT of time I could have been doing the above trying to get a battery box ready. I mean it was in rough shape to begin with so I wasn't shooting for show quality but sanding, painting, recessing the speedo, etc and it doesnt even want to almost fit. I think it's due mostly to the wiring placement but I'm starting to wonder if the battery cage frame might be tweaked a little. Nothing that will prevent me from riding, but just enough to piss me off a lot.

Thanks, Paul! We wish you were going to be here, too. So far it's looking like 30+ riders......I've learned the hard way that you don't count your Ruckers until they Roll. the long range forecasts for this part of Rockingham County say 91° Friday and 88° Saturday with nightly lows around 68°..... for the BRP and Floyd, Va., the high and low temps are at least 10° cooler. That's great riding weather, much milder than the 100°+ days in Wilmington! You guys rolling in on Thursday get the real heat wave..... 96°!!

Soooo, everything went smoothly with the crap I did over the weekend aside from not having enough time. Went to work this morning without issue. Even had a text in my inbox from a friend who takes the same route and was tailing me in his vanagon. It read "47mph!" ANYWAY, I'm leaving work and all of a sudden it starts to bog hardcore. Wish I had my speedo on so I could post how fucking slow I was creeping along, but I didn't. It's not getting enough air (or getting too much fuel?) and if I let off the throttle it stalls and won't start again. If I can get it to start sputtering and blow into the carb itll run again. ridiculous right? Stopped at advance auto to buy some carb cleaner cause hopefully its just a gummed up carb, and the freaking thing wouldn't turn over to save its life. Finally one of the guys working on the sign comes over and starts asking whats wrong. I'm beyond annoyed already and now I have some jackass asking me questions I don't want to answer. After I explain what I'm doing, and how its not working, he suggests in a glimmer of brilliance that I take it next door to the gas station and use the air pump while I kick it. fuck yeah, did that and putt putted home. Needed to come in and bitch a bit before I tore the carb open, but I'm about to go do that. I'm pissed that this is happening just 3 days before Con, but I suppose if its something I can fix right away it's better that it happened now and not then! Wish me luck guys..
