i've been looking at ruckus' on cl for a few weeks now and i've ran into a few rucks that are for sale but have little to no paperwork. they were good prices but turned em down so i won't have to deal w/ the dmv. does anybody have any experience w/ purchasing a ruck w/ no title? how do you go about registering it at the dmv w/ no paperwork? thanks!

what state are you from? some state doesnt require a title for 49cc and below. make sure the ruck you're buying isn't stolen so get a vin and take it to the police station so they can run the #s.

Do get one without the title. Cause I'm sure it's stolen. Cant trust people on CL.

No Title in the Seller's name = Don't buy it!

I too was wondering the same thing. There's actually one on TR that has no title as well as a few on CL that state they don't own a title. Is there anything I can do to assure that it's that persons? For instance a Bill of Sale or even receipts from the seller?

If you do buy one without a Title definetly have a "Bill Of Sale" and get the Seller's I.D. and phone number in case you need to contact them should a problem come up! If possible get the V.I.N. and go to your local DMV to see if it's Stolen or if there's a Lien on it!

Ah yes, that's what I had asked the seller. He says there will be a Bill of Sale. If I do go through on this, I'll keep this information in my mind. Thanks Ron!

There was a Case on "Judge Judy" where someone bought a Scooter without a Title! Turns out the Seller not only did not have a Title, the Scooter was reported Stolen by the previous owner! So Lesson learned about buying a Scooter without a Title!

whats the vin on the frame? I can run a report to see if there was ever a title made for it.

cant always just not buy a scoot without a title, some people loose them or just dont care to hold onto them,but you can always read someone well atleast i can when i ask about the situation and why dont have one, like someone said some states dont require them at all, just get the vin and run it quick bunch of websites that can run them on quickly, shouldnt just turn down a good deal because no title, just called checking the vin, i just bought a 09 for 600 has clean vin, but didnt come with a title BUT I ALSO WROTE OUT A BILL OF SALE WITH THE BUYER AND HAVE HIS PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS AND SUCH, so not always a bad thing if no title

just make sure a bill of sale is written up

Get a Bill of Sale and the Seller's info! Even if it's a Trade! You never know if it's Stolen!
