 Post subject: KYMCO/SYM hub confusion
PostPosted: Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:35 pm
Apparently SYM and Kymco are the same hubs, the quality of the sym doesn't see to be as good as a KYMCO but it works so idc

First off I got the hub from California in 2-3 days which is fantastic! :highfive: thank you its going to help a lot

I noticed however immediately after I pulled it out of the box the casting seemed funny compared to 3 other kymco hubs I've used, there was a big of "leftover" castings and the dimples on the face seemed poorly done, my initial thought was that it was a replica so I flipped it over and I know for a fact that ALL Kymco hubs I've ever saw have word "KYMCO" castes into the inner brake area.. This new does NOT have that it only says 95.5mm, Also a hub I took out of the box brand new had KYMCO on the box itself, this one did not

I really don't care if it's genuine or not, it was only 60$ and as long as it works I'm happy, but I just don't think it should be listed as a "Genuine KYMCO hub" whenever it clearly is not

Link to the item:

Pictures of the hub I recieved:

Lol really?

Petty? Making note about a replica part being sold as "genuine" is petty?? That says a lot about you

What is your problem? I posted noting something, I thanked them for the fast shipment and said I could care less about it being a replica but when I ordered it said that it was "genuine" and it's not, that is all.. Also I didn't see the need in making an issue out of it in the feedback thread, if it was a mistake and they care to fix it on the site then this is simply a heads up for a customer who could possibly flip out of being falsely sold a part :meh: I could care less

How much does a "genuine" usually sell for? How bout' an imitation? I don't know where the thread belongs but agree with your point about advertising correctly. I wouldn't be happy with a Sheng Wey if I ordered and was told I was getting a Keihin.

eBay a genuine sells for 65-70$? As for the repli I have no clue, I honestly didn't even know there was one available, I paid 60$ shipped from SF which is a good price IMO

If it's a repli then that's what it is, most people don't care as long as it works correctly.. I know I don't

SYM is made in Taiwan. Most of Kymco is made in Taiwan. Someone probably got confused when they wrote the description. +1 for SYM

Didnt see of making an issue out of it but you feel the need to make a new thread???
a "simple heads up" could have easily been made in their feedback thread or perhaps a PM???? Maybe educate yourself first with a thread in the corner carving section to see who else produces these hubs?
but no, a brand new thread in the classifieds was the way to go w/ this one huh. That sir, says a lot about you

Lol so thanking them for the fast shipment, explaining that I could care less about it being Kymco or not and simply making it a heads up for someone who doesn't know or feels as though they got jipped and the finds this thread while searching, is putting them on blast??

Sorry man but it seems like you took kachowqueafs duty in being the ONLY person starting shit in someones thread.. Well done
